Irena Calo’s early experience in luxury accessories began working at Hazelton Lanes and later with some of the most iconic designer names in London, UK. Always interested in fine jewelry, she came across a one-of-a-kind chain ring from Paris. Irena was told the ring was worn on the beaches of the South of France, and that was ‘all they wore!’. She was fascinated with the beauty of this fine ring and wore it from that day on. Irena would constantly receive compliments from friends as well as complete strangers. This beautiful ring was always noticed and admired over the years.
Since everyone wanted this ring, to no avail, she promised herself she would make them one day. Irena went on to a long career in advertising, promotions and branding, all the while being asked, ‘where did you get your ring?’
As time allowed, Irena began designing a collection of rings while she realized the experience and resources from her career. It was then that Calo & Co. was created. In her studio she works with the finest gold and silver from Europe to create a unique collection with exquisite attention to detail. Together with this knowledge she has created this luxury collection and continues to work on her passion.
Irena’s motivation has always been ‘less is more’ and ‘if you can’t find jewelry you like, don’t wear any until you do! ‘
